Proof and trust

The scale of the data is what makes the patterns visible

Ptolemy tracks 166,412 palms and trees, has recorded more than 79,500 inspections since 2023, rates every one on a five-tier condition scale, and records treatment on body cameras so delivery is verifiable, not assumed.

From the field

One Bismarck, back from palmetto weevil.

The same palm, photographed as it came back. The weevil attacks the bud, so the window is short: once the bud is gone, the palm is lost.

Test before you remove

The palm that looked lost.

“I called lethal bronzing on a palm, and so did a second palm professional with three decades in the field. The laboratory did not detect the organism. That palm is alive and grading Normal today.”

Jeff Kaulbars, ISA Certified Arborist

That is why we confirm disease in a lab before any palm is treated or removed. A lab result protects the board twice: from losing a palm that could be saved, and from leaving a sick one next to its neighbors.

Data at scale

Every dot is a palm or tree.

Every palm and tree we manage is mapped in a GIS inventory, and palms on Standard and Advanced care are also graded. Collecting data across thousands of palms lets us see what a single visit cannot: which areas are declining, which treatments are working, and where the next problem is likely to show.

That is how a community spends its budget on the palms that need it, not the palms that happen to get noticed.

Verified delivery, not assumed

The most common reason palm care fails is not a bad plan. It is a good plan that did not get carried out as written. A protocol that calls for nine to twelve injection sites and gets three in the field is a failed treatment, even when the work order says complete. Our crews wear body cameras during treatment, so we verify the work at the point it happens. Right product, right process, right palm, on the record.

Case studies

Treated next to untreated

Here is a paired study inside one large master-planned community: palms on our program next to palms that were not, photographed over about two years in the same place and the same weather.

Establishment, measured

A large special district, three years in.

Root collar work, irrigation fixes and measured water on every oak, through two hurricanes and a drought. We do not credit any one treatment, and no program can promise any one tree.

1,094to 1441,094 trees with tip dieback in April 2024 (oaks, hollies, magnolias and maples). 144 oaks in October 2026, counted tree by tree, while the oak count doubled.
88%Of all oaks now grade Normal, up from 69%.
80%Canopy health or better is Normal. It is the target we manage to, not a guarantee.
