How we manage partner crews.

Some work on your property may be done by a partner company. Here is what stays the same whichever crew is on site.

  1. 01You deal with Ptolemy

    The client relationship stays with us. We quote the work, schedule it, and answer for it. You never manage a second vendor.

  2. 02One brand on site

    Partner crews work in Ptolemy shirts, with Ptolemy signs on their trucks. Storm work runs under the Ptolemy name too.

  3. 03Our spec is the standard

    Every partner crew works to the written Ptolemy spec for the service. We send the spec and the palm or tree list before the visit. Changes are agreed before the visit, not in the field.

  4. 04Our arborist makes the calls

    Diagnosis, treatment and removal calls stay with Ptolemy’s certified arborist. A partner crew does not make them.

  5. 05The same records

    A partner crew sends back the same records our own crews keep. Health Program treatments are recorded on body camera, whoever applies them.

  6. 06Every job is graded

    We check each visit against the work order, on site or from the records. Grades decide who keeps working for our clients.

For palm and tree companies

Become a Ptolemy Partner.

Ptolemy Partners are independent companies. You own your crews, trucks, equipment and insurance. We bring the clients, the standards and the record. You qualify one service class at a time.

  1. 01Palm trimming

    Pruned to the Ptolemy palm spec.

  2. 02Removals

    Palms and trees, with the equipment and coverage the work calls for.

  3. 03Tree trimming

    Pruned to standard, under an ISA Certified Arborist who manages the company.

  4. 04Plant health care

    The FDACS license for the category. Treatment calls stay with our arborist.

  5. 05Storm work

    Under the Ptolemy brand, like everything else.

Before any work starts

What every partner company needs on file.

A partner company works for our client under our name, so the client gets the same protection whichever crew is on site.

  • Workers’ compensation for every crew, coded for tree work. An officer exemption covers one person, not a crew.
  • General liability, auto liability and an umbrella policy, with Ptolemy named as additional insured.
  • Certificates sent directly by your agent, renewed every year, with notice before any cancellation.
  • The FDACS license for any pesticide or fertilizer work, and coverage for it.
  • A partner company managed by an ISA Certified Arborist. Crew members do not need to be certified. Florida has no state tree contractor license.
  • Every local license and permit the work needs, at your own cost.

    To our spec, graded on every job. Strong grades keep the work coming.
